The six common faults, their causes, and solutions for the control box of
diesel generator set are as follows:
1. Generator approaching rated speed but not generating electricity:
Reason: AC side circuit breaker of rectifier bridge blown, poor contact of excitation circuit wiring, open circuit or short circuit, damaged silicon components, excitation regulator failure, demagnetization switch in the "demagnetization" position.
Solution: Find the cause, eliminate it, and replace the fuse; Check and repair the excitation circuit; Replace silicon components; Repair or replace the excitation regulator; Place the demagnetization switch in the "OFF" position.
2. The insulation monitoring light will light up and the voltmeter will not indicate:
Reason: The capacitor is blown, the voltage conversion switch is placed in the "off" position, and the voltmeter is damaged.
Solution: Find the cause, eliminate it, and replace the fuse; Turn the switch to another position; Repair or replace the voltmeter.
3. The voltmeter indicates normally, but some insulation monitoring lights do not light up:
Reason: Poor or damaged grounding of the control box circuit or generator stator winding, insulation monitoring light contact.
Solution: Identify the grounding cause and eliminate it; Make good contact or replace the light bulb.
4. The synchronization indicator light does not rotate and lights up or goes out at the same time:
Reason: Synchronization indicator light wiring error, inconsistent phase sequence at both ends of the automatic air switch contact.
Solution: Correct the wiring; Check the phase sequence and correct it.
5. The output voltage of the generator is normal, but the automatic air switch often trips:
Reason: The setting value of the thermal release is too low, the contact of the automatic air switch is poor, the pressure is too low, the heating is severe, the switch wiring is poorly connected, and there is severe heating.
Solution: Reset; Use a fine iron knife or sandpaper to level the contact points and adjust the pressure; Secure the wiring screws or apply conductive paste on the contact surface.
6. Abnormal instrument indication:
Reason: incorrect wiring phase sequence, polarity, internal instrument malfunction, poor wiring contact, incorrect polarity of current transformer.
